So, where is everyone? It seems that there is less activity on deviantart everytime I think about this topic. I had already published a journal about this in the past but it seems that it's getting worse and worse.
I see photographers getting 10 comments on really good photos, while the same photographers got 350 comments, 500 comments or even 1,200 comments on other photos in 2012.
I see Daily Deviations with 1000 views and 100 likes- are you kidding me?
Have all photos got boring? Are we now only able to like the most overprocessed HDR-sunset, the most cute baby animal or good looking but unreal woman? Have we lost our appreciation for really beautiful things- is fake and/or spectacular the new beautiful?
Or are we just too lazy to pay attention?
I'm still not able to understand the behaviour of the people....I'm not even able to become angry about it because not commenting, not liking and not supporting people for what they do is so abstract to me. I wish there was an activity test for da...
I can hardly believe that the same people who got 1,200 comments on their photos publish so bad stuff that they should now earn 10 comments...
I mean we all don't really earn that much money here, so what we all need is to see our work getting appreciated. If there's no appreciation, then there's actually no reason to upload our work. I can see some famous photographers leave this platform due to the lack of activity. Is this a sinking ship?
The last journal that I posted had 2,000 views and 2 comments. That's not what I would call effective. Internet support on deviantart by commenting or liking a facebook site is FOR FREE so I suggest you should do it.
...or sooner or later the only good source for beautiful stuff will be books and calendars again.
Hard to believe that people actually paid for stuff like ours in the past...
Deviantart today said:
'Proudly showing 270 million pieces of art from over 28 million registered artists and art appreciators'
28 million users? Where? If only 1% would be active, that would mean 280,000 views...
